Yesterday was not a good day.

Woke up feeling lousy -- the achy/headachy thing has been building this week, much to my annoyance. Pondered calling off work, but wasn't feeling quite bad enough for that to be legitimate. Got in the car, it sounded horrible when I started it up, and died before I was more than partway down the driveway. Messed with it for a bit, couldn't get it working, pushed it back up the driveway and into the parking spot. Called my boss to let him know I'd be late, and possibly not in at all (even if I'd left that moment for the bus stop, it's a 1 1/2 to 2 hr trip by RTA). By that point I was feeling substantially more shitty, and decided to get some sleep and take the rest of the day off. We got the car looked at by a friend last night, and it looks like the problem is the computer that was installed a few weeks ago -- absolutely bizarre readings, and it's thinking the coolant is -170 degrees, and dumping insane amounts of fuel into the engine as a result.

On top of that, I'm worried about Jax, our dog. He's something less than coordinated at the best of times, and trips over himself, the cats, the floor, and us on a semi-regular basis. It looks like he managed to bruise or strain something in doing so recently. He's favoring one of his hind legs, and has been for about the past day (he wasn't limping when Becca left the house Wednesday night, but was by the time I got home later on). We've checked for signs of swelling, and there doesn't seem to be any, so we're just watching him carefully at this point to make sure it improves in the next few days. If not, there's the possibility of major vet bills. Eek.

Today's going slightly better, so far, at least. I'm back at work, although it means I'm back on the god-awful-early schedule again, to make time for RTA. Not sure how things are going to work tonight with the Bi and Beyond meeting I'm supposed to be facilitating. Getting there isn't really a problem, I know exactly which bus I'll need. However, getting home again at 10pm may be a little trickier. Less common routes, like the one by my place, are often on their last run of the night by then, and if things don't work out in terms of timing, I might have an obnoxiously long walk home.

I'm just really, really glad it's Friday. If possible, I'm going to spend this weekend mostly relaxing and trying to forestall the fibro flare that seems to be attempting to make itself known.

Also on a good note, Blowfish did get those bumper stickers made (I think the original post about this is back a ways in my journal - discussion in their weekly update about smut and the legal system). From today's Blowfish Update:

Okay my darling perverts. You asked for it, and
Christophe went out and had the "I Watch Smut, and I
Vote!" bumper stickers made, just for you. Of course,
I've been asking for a pony for ages. Do I have a pony
yet? Noooooo. Oh well.

You know you watch smut. Now you'll have something,
besides hairy palms and failing eyesight, to let the
world know about it. You'll be the belle of the
traffic jam as your fellow commuters break their necks
trying to see who the cool person with the smutty
bumper is. Buy one for yourself and one for the
neighbors!

I'll email you my cell number, in case you don't have it anymore. But call me and I'll come get you and take you home if you want. Especially if you miss busses, it's getting cold again tonight.

For the doggie... give him hugs :)

Thanks! I'm looking at the RTA website right now, and I think I've got a solution that'll work, but if I have any problems I'll give you a call...

Will do! :)

Yesterday just generally sucked all around, I think. I vote we strike it from the calendar....

Thanks...

and bumper stickers don't necessarily require bumpers, ya know... Folders, boxes, etc, can be lovely targets...
