Looks like I'm here 'til dawn... (more linketies)

So it turns out that one of the third shift folks is on PTO, and the other... Well, she just didn't show up, and the phone number they have for her is disconnected. Fun. Luckily, I'm actually feeling better than I have in days, so staying over shouldn't wreck me too badly. Also, since my weekend begins on Wednesday, this just means it'll start tomorrow morning instead of tomorrow night. Not all bad, and plenty of recuperation time. And she did get here, and had a good excuse. I'm still staying through this shift rather than spending 2 hours bussing it home at 3am just to come back for a few hours in the afternoon, though (I sent my coworker/carpool home a bit after midnight).

At Your Cervix [Video TRAILER] -- I'm really excited about this; I've been watching the development of the project for a long time now. The description on the Care2 site is more than a bit misleading, though. Women have been working as pelvic models/GTAs/patient-instructors for more than 30 years, at least (our own program is almost that old, and I've been teaching for 10 myself). The practice has broadened, and correspondingly, examples of nonconsensual exams on anesthetized patients have declined, but the latter problem is not entirely in the past yet, and the GTAs are certainly not a new idea in the least.

Kinksters: Our sexy allies -- I agree with the first comment -- that this is oversimplifying -- but I also think there's a decent amount of truth to the overall idea, and have generally found kink environments much more likely to be truly welcoming of queer folk than most mainstream environments.
