Doctor Who stuff (possible spoilers through 6.06)

Random Who question: Does anyone recall whether it's been addressed whether Rory's still an Auton, or whether somewhere along the way he became a "real boy" again? It's been frustrating me for ages.

I've seen through 6.06, and it's particularly been bothering me since Shrodinger's pregnancy first became an issue back in 6.02. If he's still an Auton, how could the baby even possibly be his? Is living plastic somehow compatible with human ova? It seems absolutely weird to me that this topic hasn't come up in all in discussions between Amy, Rory, and the Doctor.
