One of my friends here on livejournal sent me an mp3 of that Indigo Girls recording of "Finlandia" and I just fell in love. Then the first time I heard it in church, I nearly fell over! I didn't realize it was a hymn. But I've only heard it maybe twice in church since then. It's not in the standard Church of the Brethren Hymnal, but it's in one of the supplements. Definitely not a song that I grew up singing, which is probably mostly why I'm still not comfortable singing it.
