GIP! (how could I not have realized this before?)
Of course I need a mitochondria icon!
I'm irrationally fond of them. Really the only organelle I have an emotional reaction to. I blame it on Madeleine L'Engle (for an utterly whacked but emotionally evocative presentation of them), and on the beauty of symbiosis. And on the niftiness of being able to track maternal descent by mtDNA. Elegant!
