OK, "weird", yes, but so's everyone in the family.

Anyway, two sweet things so far from this visit. Mom asking whether I have any special new "person or group of people" in my life, and Dad calling just a minute ago to check on what kind of flourescent lights I want for the lightbulb switch campaign (actually a good excuse to do something I've been meaning to do for ages.

Last night we ordered pizza and watched Evolution, which was a fun low-key way to spend the evening.

Ah, good! I did go to look and replied, but I've only got marginal knowledge of that sort of problem, so mostly could just offer suggestions for where to find people who'd have more info.

Hey that's neat! I've been replacing all the bulbs here with that as they burn out but more because I'm cheap and lazy than especially environmentally active.

I don't think the flourescent bulb people push the cheap and lazy aspect enough. Those are huge motivators for most people.

*nod* Agreed. That was the motivator for our first one (the lightbulb in the staircase hallway that's such a pain to change)

We've got our three most used fixtures in the apartments as fluorescents. The main kitchen one is a tube florescent, but the other two, in the bedroom and the living room are both 13w CFLs. Generally we're pleased with them but they always seem just a hair darker than their incandescent counterparts.
