Have you ever been asked to pose nekkid? Occasionally. Twice that I can recall for people's art projects. Most nekkid or semi-nekkid images of me are just incidental snapshots, though. Comes of spending a lot of time sans clothing. Sooner or later I want to do some real good photos, both of my body itself, and details on my bodyart, but that's way down on the life priority list at the moment.

Have you done so? Yes.

How did you like the pictures? Eh. They look like me. It's always a touch odd to see oneself from the outside, but my feelings about the actual images vary depending on how my body image is doing at the time. Overall, though, I'm generally more comfortable and happier with nekkid images of myself than with clothed images of myself.

Did you feel the same way about your body before and after the photography? Has it had any sort of long-term effect? Not really. Does it occasionally precipitate a moment of discomfort with some feature, or pleasure in another? Sometimes.

Do you like looking at or taking pictures of people? I'm an absolute sucker for nudes. Photographed, painted, sketched, sculpted, you name it. Love, love, love looking at the human body. Oooh. Pretty. I've never done much in regards to taking pictures, though.

Do you like having your picture taken? It depends. I'm often not particularly photogenic, and I dislike evidence of that, but when photos come out well, I really enjoy them. More important, for me, is the issue of personal history. Images are a big part of that, and I kind of wish I had more just for continuity in creation of that.

And is there a picture of you that you save? One in particular, I mean, that follows you wherever you live or work? I can think of two answers to that... When I left for college, my mom sat down with all the family photo albums, and pulled shots, chronologically, of me to put in my own photo album. I cherish that, and it's moved with me everywhere I go. There are a couple of photos in it that I particularly love; one of me when I was probably about three, crouched down on a dirt path with a little frog in my hand, and another of me and my brother James when I was in 4th grade or so. The other image that includes a photo of me is a Peep photo from college: http://www.hailotis.com/images/peeps94.jpg There's a copy of that that usually hangs on my wall at home (along with all the rest of the Peep family photos), and I often use it as my background on my PC at work. I'm not generally all that attached to having photos of myself around, except as parts of photos with friends and family. I love having photos of friends and family. They make me smile.

Just discovered that they're doing a blood-mobile in our building today. Time to go get poked.

And I adore www.cpl.org Spend part of my time this morning requesting more fun escapist fantasy. I've now got something like fifteen books on order to be picked up from the library branch that's conveniently on my way home on the bus line. Which reminds me... One of the very nice things about living with [livejournal.com profile] bec76 is the overlap in our reading tastes. It's almost guaranteed that anything either of us bring home from the library will be something both of us want to read. I like that.

Quick update on my office: It's actually more livable in here at the moment than it has been in recent memory. I'm pleased. We must keep the giant fans.

All in all, my mood in improving.
