Tasty Thai and an unexpected postcard...
Sep. 30th, 2003 10:51 amDamn LJ -- acting like it ate my post, then spitting it back out after I'd recreated the whole damn thing...
I was patient-instructing last night, so couldn't actually join
theferrett,
zoethe, their friends and Becca for American Splendor. I could, however, join them for tasty Thai food. Tasty, tasty. Especially the coconut chicken soup. Yum. And I finally got a chance to meet
zoethe, who is indeed very cool. And when I got home, I had a postcard from
firinel, with one of my favorite of her sketches! Becca got a decent amount of amusement over my bounciness about that...
I did indeed quit smoking at midnight. From the exceedingly brief trial run of the Nicotrol inhaler so far, it seems more useful to me than the patch was. And I survived the "morning getting ready" with Becca (we both smoke a decent amount in mornings while we're getting ready and driving in). I wasn't exactly at my most relaxed and chipper on the drive in, though. Work's a bit easier than home, although I'm still getting all jumpy about wanting a smoke break. I think I'm going to go play around in the gym for a little while and see if that distracts me a bit.
I'm actually more jittery right now that I usually would be -- quitting makes me nervous, and my response to being nervous is to want a cigarette. So it's a lot of trying to ignore the elephant in the living room... Mostly I just want to go back to sleep, since that seems like the easiest way to ignore the whole issue.

Getting busy...
Sep. 30th, 2003 12:35 pmNo, not in the fun way. I'm going to get all obsess-y about finishing up a backlog of callbacks today, so I'll probably only be checking LJ and email infrequently.
