it just occurred to me that my parents are visiting this week. Wow, that snuck up on me. Unfortunately, significant time off to spend with them will be almost impossible to wrangle, but I'm hoping my boss might let me out an hour or two early one of the days so we can go to Cedar Point together.

Before they get here, though, we really need to do some level of housecleaning. I'm not particularly worried about it, since I take after my folks in a lot of ways, and a lack of obsession with dust is definitely part of that. But still, I'd like to tidy up some.

Also, yesterday was the Tremont Yard Sale, and we scored a free three-shelf bookcase that seems pretty sturdy, if ugly as sin. Also, on Saturday we scavenged a chest of drawers that should just need some minor repairs. We're constantly short on storage space, so I'm very pleased about these, and even more pleased that [livejournal.com profile] chameleonpixie is in the mood to make some art and paint them up.

Additionally, I won my Ebay auction for the stationary bike, and it got delivered yesterday evening, so maybe I can finally motivate myself to get back on track with home PT, which I've been slacking on embarrassingly badly recently.

On the sadder side, Sugar went home last night. I really enjoyed having her around, and the house feels a bit too quiet right now. I'm finding myself hoping that L and A will need petsitting for her relatively frequently. We did get some pics, though, which I'll share once we get them uploaded.

Random note -- my system seems to be clocking on internet activity pretty frequently this morning. I suspect network probs, and it's possible I may vanish randomly from IM, or miss messages.

Clinic escorting happens Saturday mornings, approximately 8am-noon. We generally hope for one weekend/month from regular escorts.

Only an hour left with a headset on my ear, staring at the monitor glow, and then an hour and a half on bouncy-jouncy overly-crowded overly-sunny public transit for the trip home. None of which would really suck, except that I woke up with a migraine this morning, and have been heavily medicating to keep it mostly under wraps. It's chewing through those wraps again.

This also means it's very likely I won't be able to read my book on the way home. The book I'm obsessively engrossed in, and have been looking forward to all day. Graaaaaar.
