I just asked my boss if I can leave an hour early today (when the afternoon shift arrives) since my family's in town, and we're planning on going to Cedar Point today for their half-price evening hours. I think it's likely he'll agree, and it won't be the end of the world if he doesn't; we'll just get there a bit later.

It'll be a bit weird, though -- Cedar Point's been a family tradition since I was a kid, and part of that was that Dad and I rode the coasters together (the first coaster I ever rode was the Gemini there, when I was 9). Dad doesn't ride 'em anymore, so I'm sad to be losing that part of things. Still, it should be a fun evening, if I can dredge up the energy for it; I only got about 5 hours of sleep last night, and it's going to be a long day.
OK, "weird", yes, but so's everyone in the family.

Anyway, two sweet things so far from this visit. Mom asking whether I have any special new "person or group of people" in my life, and Dad calling just a minute ago to check on what kind of flourescent lights I want for the lightbulb switch campaign (actually a good excuse to do something I've been meaning to do for ages.

Last night we ordered pizza and watched Evolution, which was a fun low-key way to spend the evening.
