Grafton's heading out soon, so his going away party (complete with another fire in that lovely copper firepit) will be happening tonight. I definitely foresee some nap time between work and the party, but I'm looking forward to it.

Patient-instructing last night was 2nd year med students -- the first of the new school year. It's always a bit befuddling to remember to switch gears from the sessions we do with the residents to the from-scratch training with the 2nd-years, but last night's went remarkably well. One of my students had better patient-interaction skills than I've seen in ages, and did better with picking up the technical sides of the exam than many of my residents, frankly. It's been a good week for rewarding sessions, actually.

Today maybe I'll finally manage to get through the ever-increasing list of article links that's been accumulating recently.
Mother Jones has an excellent timeline detailing the issues surrounding Emergency Contraception from 1960 to present day.

It's a fascinating if infuriating read about overwhelming scientific data getting trampled under biased politics.

Also, it includes links to the original articles it references, which makes for lots of interesting reading.
