Republicans using Robo-calls to annoy dem and swing voters

The email I received from the dems about it:

Dear Sarah,

Karl Rove has been bragging for weeks about his "72-hour program" to swing the elections, which predict a Democratic takeover of Congress.

Now we know what it is: a dirty trick campaign using robocalls.

The calls are made to Democrats and swing voters at all times of day or night to make them angry. And they pretend to be from the Democrat ("Hello, I'm calling with information about Lois Murphy"). If you hang up, they call back 7-8 times, and each time you hear the Democrat's name, to get you angry at him or her. If you stay on, you get to hear a scathing attack on the Democrat.

Karl Rove's whole career has been devoted to dirty tricks. In 2002, his dirty trick was to force Congress to vote shortly before Election Day for the Iraq War based on two months of White House lies about WMD's and Al Qaeda ties. That dirty trick has cost the lives of 2,834 brave young Americans (16 so far in November), $2 trillion in debt to our children and grandchildren, and unleashed massive bloodshed in Iraq.

It's too late for legal action or even newspaper stories. If you receive one of these calls, write down the time and candidate and call every radio and TV show you can and urge everyone listening to vote against the disgusting Republican dirty tricksters. And forward this email to everyone you know so they aren't fooled by Karl Rove's dirty trick.

Let's make this Karl Rove's LAST campaign by voting ALL Republicans out of office.

Benefits hell appears to be over (which means my ability to IM is pretty much back to normal); Sunday was quite quiet, so it seems possible we may not get as many post-deadline calls as we have in the past. Given that, I'm trying to get all of tomorrow off, instead of the half day I initially requested. It'll make it easier for me to vote, get ready for my election protection shift, and hopefully get some house and yard cleaning done in anticipation of the parentals' arrival later this week. Also, I need to figure out some sort of patch for our back fence. When the neighbors took down the vines all over it, they removed most of what was holding it up. Our dogs have discovered this, and are now trying to make forays into the neighbor's yard every time we let them out to pee. Not ideal. We'd love to truly replace the entire back fence (the rest of the enclosure of the yard is 6-foot fence or brick wall, but the back is a horrible mash of chain link and some crumbling wooden slats on wire), but I don't think our landlord's all that gung-ho about it, and I don't feel like paying to make major improvements to his property.

Election Protection training went fine, but yesterday was a very long day, and I'm exhausted and headachey today. Patient-instructing tonight. Maybe I can catch a nap before my session.

Our internet connectivity is dropping randomly and recurrently. Sorry if I vanish from IM or don't reply -- it's not intentional.

I figure this might be useful info for many folks on my friends list.
