Taking random tests on OKCupid...
May. 4th, 2008 07:04 pmI ran across the all-time stumper for me:
12. Which of the following would you rather do?
Read an intense book, play a board game, solve a puzzle.
Read a fun book, chat with a friend, see a thoughtful movie.
Write in my journal or blog, surf the web, think about things.
Watch tv, nap.
Normally I can at least eliminate several options, prioritize a few. But whomever wrote this darn thing just listed off most of my favorite activities there. (I ended up going with B)
Oh, and apparently I'm really good at detecting folks who are gay or virgins. But better at detecting both in men. This amuses me, but it also makes me wonder what the overall results of these silly little quizzes show; is there an overall pattern in that regard; issues of signifiers being generally culturally clearer for one sex than the other? (although on the gaydar one I was really amused that they left in two images that included, respectively, a rainbow bead necklace and a male symbol -- talk about "gimmes"). (clarification: the virgin test and the gaydar test were two separate things)
I've had a lovely, lovely weekend. Life is good. Just finished a couple of hours of intense conversation and feeling pretty mindless at the moment, though, so back to the silly quizzes.
