Life and linketies
Oct. 27th, 2010 05:44 amFinally got home around 9am this morning. That weather has hit -- lots of wind and rain, and between that and the all-nighter, I was definitely feeling it. Lots of sleep and meds later, though, I'm doing pretty well, hanging out with the housemates and watching the last of the Colin Baker era Doctor Who. Ringo's apparently been dusting the house in his explorations; he's turned his whole white belly gray. Also, his tail has been viciously taunting him. We spent a while today watching the battle between him and it, rather precariously taking place on top of a six-foot tall bookshelf.
On “The Assassination of Dr. Tiller” -- the commentary on the use of the word "they" is spot-on. I distinctly remember that in my language when I was calling to break the news to others in the escorting community.

Basically, bomb cyclogenesis is the formation of an over-land cyclone ("cyclogenesis") in a dramatically short period of time ("kablooey"). The phenomenon might be involved in the formation of Atlantic Nor'easters, and was the force behind some of the biggest blizzards of the mid-20th century. In fact, Minnesota Public Radio's Updraft blog is going so far as to call this incoming weather system a "land hurricane" ("telegram"). The Eastern side of Lake Superior is expecting 25-foot waves this afternoon. Should be exciting. And we've all learned a new word.

Experimentation, orgasms, and the rise of anal sex.
So why did the inclusion of anal sex bump the orgasm figure up to 94 percent? It didn't. The causality runs the other way. Women who were getting what they wanted were more likely to indulge their partners' wishes. -- I really disapprove of how this implies that the only reason women would acquiesce to anal is for their partner's pleasure. It's damned inaccurate.
