I'll be keeping my hotmail accounts as free accounts for the foreseeable future, until I manage to get everything switched over to the new address, but I officially cancelled paid service on sarah_whitman_young@hotmail.com, and ursa74@hotmail.com due to the idiotic sort-blocking they've got. I'm in the process of switching my primary communications over to sarah.whitman.young@gmail.com

Argh, this is a massive pain in the ass. Yahoogroups alone is 32 lists for which I need to change addresses.

Yahoo groups used to have a mass change option for you e-mail, so changing that shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah. You just associate a new email with your yahoo ID, then you go to http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups and click on the edit groups link. You can edit 10 at a time. It doesn't take long to use the drop menu to change all 10 in one fell swoop.

I hadn't found that option (all their screens have changed since last time I used their web interface), but I did associate the new account, and then do it one at a time.

Now I'm dealing with all the organizations that send me news bulletins and such. Argh, argh, double-argh.

Unless GMail ever goes away, or Google becomes particularly evil, or something, it won't be a problem ever again, because you can make gmail forward all incoming mail to another address.
