I was postponing and dithering on what day we'd have Harry put to sleep, trying to keep some touch of denial as long as I could. Yesterday I finally made the plans. Friday morning bec76, syrinx_77 and I are going to take Leroy and Harry to the park again, and have a couple of good, tiring hours there. After that we'll go straight to the vet clinic and give Harry his last steak before we put him to sleep.

Unfortunately so far I haven't been able to find coverage for either patient-instructing or clinic escorting, which is really frustrating me. Escorting is less critical, since that's mostly going to be about me just not being in a good headspace to be coping, and it makes it somewhat more difficult to make arrangements to get to the APL before they close on Saturday. But because of travel time and the extra time I spent waiting between work and patient-instructing, each session this week is going to cost me almost an entire evening (about 4 hours) with Harry, and right now I'm on the schedule tonight and tomorrow night. I'm not sure I've ever resented my schedule quite this much.

It definitely was a wonderful last day together, and I appreciate the thoughts and the long-distance support -- it's helped a lot in the past week.
