Dear friend of United for Peace and Justice:
What an extraordinary weekend this was -- we truly made history. We estimate that at least
500,000 people jammed into New York City for the February 15 "World Says No to War" protest --
joining with millions upon millions around the globe in opposition to the war on Iraq.
We need two things from you now: your stories, and your financial support.
Please let us know how your group or organization fared on February 15. How many were in your
group? Where were you? What was your experience of the day? What were your interactions with the
police like? Send your stories to feb15@unitedforpeace.org (we will assume you are willing to
have us make your name and story public unless you tell us otherwise).
We are also asking you to make the most generous contribution you can, to enable us to continue
our organizing for peace. The police restrictions on our freedom of movement on February 15
greatly limited our ability to fundraise at the rally, and we collected a good deal less than
expected. We have enormous expenses from the mobilization, and we need additional resources to
move forward.
You can donate online right now by visiting
http://www.unitedforpeace.org/donate
or you can send checks to:
United for Peace and Justice
P.O. Box 607
Times Square Station
New York, NY 10108
Thanks so much for your support -- together we will stop this war.
Sincerely,
The February 15 organizing staff of
United for Peace and Justice
