Totally random questions.

Earlier, I semi-rhetorically asked:
I've got the face-hurty tired today. Why on earth does being especially exhausted make my cheekbones hurt? What's up with that?
It reminded me of another random question. Why on earth does drinking alcohol (even very small amounts) make my collarbones hurt? What's up with that?
Do any of you experience either of these?

Date: 2007-08-23 06:30 pm (UTC)The alcohol problem might be a cranial/facial nerve reaction (like chewing foil), since the pain occurs as soon as you drink. I don't think it would be metabolic in origin, since your body can't get to work on processing the poison until after it hits your stomach and bloodstream. But, I could be wrong.

Date: 2007-08-23 07:15 pm (UTC)I totally agree that the alcohol thing doesn't seem like a metabolic issue at all. It's a very immediate reaction, usually when it's still in my throat. Your guess sounds as better than most I've heard, although I doubt I'll be getting a definitive answer anytime soon.
Still pondering!

Date: 2007-08-25 01:38 am (UTC)I also get a hot flush through my cheekbones when I eat good sharp cheese. It feels like blushing really hard from embarrassment, but with no emotional component.
I cannot explain either of these things.
