So, I've been corresponding a bit with one of the women who's working on the At Your Cervix documentary:

Absolutely my pleasure! I'm a patient-instructor (what we call GTAs in our program) here in Cleveland, and I'm thrilled to hear about this; it's been the source of much pleased conversation amongst the women in our program.

Oh, that's so great to hear! So many GTAs are contacting us. That makes
us really happy to know you all are out there. I hope we can do some
work to connect GTAs in a bigger way in the future. Please give our
regards to your colleagues!

Hey, I have an idea... What about creating a mailing list for GTAs around the country to discuss and communicate? I know I get interest from a lot of friends in other areas of the country, and helping them find their local programs can be tough. And I know I'd love a chance to have some chat-time with folks working in other programs. I'd be quite happy to create and maintain the mailing list; I already moderate a few other lists.
I'd also like to make it open to people who are interested in getting involved, and open to men who teach GU exams (we're a mixed program here, and I'd hate to exclude our guys).
What do you think? If I create and maintain it (sounds like you've got plenty on your plate with the documentary), would you be willing to pass along the word as the opportunity presents itself?

So, I think I'm going to go create that mailing list, in hopes there will be interest. Other patient-instructors reading this, what do you think? Folks who've expressed interest in getting involved, how about you? I figure it'll likely take a while to get a critical mass involved, if we ever get there, but it seems worth a shot.
Edit: I've created a group: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/gta_guta_national/
It's very rough, and mostly a place-holder until we get some more membership and figure out some details.
