Third night in a row. I'm exhausted. I love sleep. Looooove it. I love dreaming. I resent having my brain do things to me that make me edgy about going to bed, for fear of what mood I'll be in when I wake.

Thankfully, at least Mike wasn't in the dream. That happened twice in a row, and was really getting me down, and stressing me out. This was a more typical generalized stress dream...

I was in the shower, trying to relax, masturbate, whatever. Only I kept getting helpdesk calls, and was trying to explain to irate users that I wasn't in front of a computer, and couldn't help them. And my mom was coming in and out of the bathroom, agitated, and yelling at me.

On the positive side, I just got an email from [livejournal.com profile] forestfire, and plans to visit everyone in New York this weekend are definite; she just bought the bus ticket... Since I can't afford any time off work right now, it's only two days, but it's two days of vacation with people I love, which will be immeasurably good for me.

Heh. I hate those dreams where you get calls in the shower - esp. when you're just trying to masturbate.

*chuckle* No kidding. I was thoroughly frustrated. Especially since in actuality my lovely shower massager didn't survive the move, and I've been missing it like hell since. The shower in my dream had it, and I was specifically all psyched about that. Must replace that. Must.

The advantage of being a guy, I suppose - most showers come stocked with soap. :P

I'm a huge fan of pressurized water. It's been one of the most consistent parts of my sex life for at least seventeen years, maybe longer. Hell, I've tried using waterfalls to get off.

Now the waterfall things sounds like a hell of a story.

"Sorry, Mr. Ranger, just looking for that natural edge..."

*snort* Rural Ohio has no rangers. Only farmers with shotguns.

There's a spot on the Kokosing river, about 10-15 minute drive from Kenyon, called The Caves. Semi-inexplicably, it's actually a waterfall where part of the river splits off from the main branch for a bit, and then rejoins it. Sort of a time-honored skinny-dipping/stoner spot. [livejournal.com profile] yoli was the first person to take me there, actually (in the dark, which was monumentally confusing)... It's not huge; I'm horrible guesstimating sizes from memory, but I'd say it's maybe 15-20 feet tall.

No rangers? Ah well, then I'll change that to
"Get offa mah pro-per-tah, ye dang masterbaters!"

Still, that's got to be a pretty strong downpour at that point. I'd do the math, but my brain already hurts this morning. :P

That sounds more like it...

*chuckle* Lots of convoluting factors there... A good portion of the flow (depending on the season) hops and jumps down the rocks, although some of it just flies from the top.

Still, it's got to be a pretty close approximation of potential to kenetic energy. Just figure from the height of the last "hop"...

Stupid brain. Never knows when to shut up.

Well, hey, at least you're having the conversation with someone who considers physics to be a legitimate form of foreplay.

Heh. I guess there is that. :)

I tell ya, my engineering background ends up being useful in the strangest places. I just wish I had gone the boy scout route - at least knots would be easier for me. Varible tension rigs I can do. Just don't ask me to keep a knot in my shoelace. :-\

*snerk* Learning knots was actually the big reason I wanted to be a boy scout, too. No one told me 'til much later that girl scouts actually learn cool stuff like that. I went to Brownies for one day, they tried to make me sew a little purse, and I was done.

Believe it or not, I was a member of 4-H for a while. We also got to make leather wallets. O_o

4-H was big where I lived, and I really wanted to do that for a while...

Well let's see, you have acceleration due to gravity of 9.8 meters per second squared, then of course you'd have to take into account all of the convuluting factors already mentioned...still, it would seem that you'd be talking about quite a bit of force. F=ma, so you'd have to take into account both the mass of water hitting a particular point (probably hard to figure out) and also acceleration, which would be difficult to figure due to said convuluting factors.

Maybe this could be a book...The Physics of Orgasm. Hmmm, I wonder if that would be a grad level course or what? Maybe it should have a lab?

I mean, gee, I've heard of fluid mechanics but...OK, OK, on that note, I think I'm shutting up now, not EVEN going there.... 0:-).

I think that class would definitely require a lab.

Waterfalls??? Now THAT I'm sure would be interesting....

*chuckle* I've got a weird relationship with water, anyway. There's a running joke from college about me being akwatic (must be spelled with a "k"), and the Very Very Large Version of the Small Aquatic Viking.
