THE POLITICS OF DEPRESSION
Farai Chideya, Pop and Politics
Depression is the most common reaction among smart people to bad times.
But, now it's time to wake up.

Eep. I'm having that pre-trip "I must have forgotten something" moment. I fell asleep early last night on the couch, and didn't wake up 'til 5am, which was incredibly lucky, since I wasn't in the same room as my alarm clock, and it wasn't set for the right time anyway, and I hadn't packed or prepared anything for the trip to New York this weekend. Ran around the house like a madwoman for a bit, finishing up laundry, tossing stuff into and out of my backpack, medicating the cat, racking my brains for exactly where I was going to be before I got home again, and what needed doing. The next four days'll be a bit hectic. I need to sort out how to get from work to the Greyhound station via RTA, and how to get back again. When I leave work, I'm headed there, bussing to New York, spending two days there, bussing back here Sunday night, and getting in Monday morning. I'll head from there to work, to patient instructing Monday evening before I'm home again. Everything I need has to fit conveniently into a backpack I'm not going to mind hauling around. Not a huge deal, but not what I'd meant to leave until ohgod o'clock this morning, in a bleary haze, to sort out.
Need to call
bec76 this afternoon... Haven't even really had a chance to sort out plans, and she's stuck with the pets for the weekend.
And dammit, I really want to know how Lanning's Identical series turns out. At least I'm hoping she writes more... In the meantime, I'll go find something new to read for the bus here: http://fix.dejabu.org/recs/sv.html
Have now found the bus route info I need, though. That officially completes everything I actually have to have with me.
