OK, a few more than yesterday (how did I forget to include Guantanamo and the return to sanity about torture?), and I've reorganized all the new additions by date (approximated in some cases by when the news articles showed up)
3/19/09: Obama Will Stop Medical Marijuana Raids
3/19/09: President Obama Announces $2.4 Billion in Funding
to Support Next Generation Electric Vehicles
3/18/09: Army phasing out stop-loss of soldiers
3/18/09: U.S. endorses UN declaration decriminalizing homosexuality
3/16/09: And he even rescinds a bad idea when coherent objections are made! -- according to Rachel Maddow last night, she'd heard back from Paul Rieckhoff, who was on the previous day vociferously objecting to the idea being floated, and he now says that after contact with the administration, any plans to direct combat injury care to private insurance have been dropped in the face of objections
3/11/09:
Executive Order Creating the White House Council on Women and Girls
3/09/09: Removing Barriers to Responsible Scientific Research Involving Human Stem Cells
3/3/09: apportionment of $26.6 billion of a total $28 billion in infrastructure spending
2/26/09: Pentagon Officially Lifts Ban on Media Access to War Dead -- good replacement policy, too. Leave it as the decision of the families. Appropriate and respectful.
2/24/09: My personal favorite Cabinet appointment: We've finally got a Secretary of Labor who actually supports Labor!
2/20/09: Extension of the work of the Coordinator of Federal Support for the Recovery and Rebuilding of the Gulf Coast Region until Sept 30th
1/27/09: Obama asks EPA to review auto emissions policy
1/23/09: Obama Rescinds Global Gag Rule
1/22/09: President Obama signs Executive Orders on Detention and Interrogation Policy

Date: 2009-03-21 04:28 am (UTC)I'm in favor of media access to war dead as long as no personally identifying information is broadcast. Families need their privacy but the public needs to know the cost of our actions. We are people too, we want folks to see us as people. The images of those coffins will hopefully make people think.
I hope the President keeps on addressing the issues other administrations have been hiding for so long. Change. Hope. It's a beautiful sight.
