Definition of Sepsis
We lost an infant family member a few generations back to septicemia, so I've always been raised to be very VERY conscious of any red streaking from the site of a minor infection (one symptom of spreading infection that can lead to sepsis).

I wish they were more proactive at dealing with the kind of fraud that actually occurs... candidate fraud. The attacks on "voter fraud" are a cover to hide the fact that most of the fraud is either financial or disclosure related. I'm glad Indiana did something right in ousting this ass for lying.

I still love maps.

Weird bookcase is weird. Actually it's kind of surreal. Anna says it makes her think of the people who buy books just to make themselves look important or well-read rather than actual biblophiles.

(snerk) People do dumb things... sometimes the dumb things turn out funny, even when it's war. I'm surprised the Michigan v. Ohio dust-up didn't get a mention for stupidity level. Unfortuantely other dumb ideas with war such as wars against ideas (Terrorism, Drugs, etc.) cause misery beyond count.

(sigh) One most certainly can walk into Mordor. Gah. I hate how many people get these details wrong. Getting in isn't a problem, it's getting in without being seen, or more pointedly getting back out again. As stated in the book the two towers, all you have to do is present yourself to the black gate and they'll take you to "him" very quickly.

Timehop, yet another reason I avoid most of the "social" internet.

Going back to politics, I firmly believe we should have geographically median voting districts, using natural (rivers, continental divide, etc.) and established breaks (county lines, city limits, etc.) to determine the borders of the voting districts. This gerrymandering has got to stop. Take it out of the hands of politicians, establish a group of political geographers with no party affiliation, and let them do the damned job after each census. No more political considerations as to how the damned things fall out. It annoys me that they create these minority districts to create a single minority representative, but in doing so the actually weaken the rest of our block voting power to vote evenly. You'll end up with a 50-50 split over 5 districts getting turned into 4 of 55-45 and one of 70-30 resulting in consistantly 4-1 swing republican under the guise of minority representation. Thats a very genaric example, but I've seen it happen a LOT down here in the south where you basically greate a very high rate for one group at the expense of all the other groups around them creating more disparity than there was before. It's incredibly counter productive to actually having competative districts.

Couldn't agree more. It's an absolute perversion of democratic process.
