[livejournal.com profile] bec76 and I were over at a friend's house. At some point in the midst of some semi-scandalous discussion and silliness, she turned to Friend and said something along the lines of "This is why I love living with her; it's like living with a sex muppet."

I approve of this new designation. Sex Muppet it is.

In other news, I'm seriously considering an ogle-fest of bad movies sometime in the next week or so. I can't really see any reason to go see either Charlie's Angels 2 or Pirates of the Carribean except for my own innate lechery. Still... Pirates of the Caribbean, especially. I'm such a child of the 80s. Mmm. Johnny Depp. Mmmm. And Orlando Bloom, too. Can you say "slash-potential", boys and girls?

And in generally good news, the migrainish ick that was going on this weekend and really pissing me off seems to be gone. I'm a much happier and more satisfied camper.

We got a lovely thunderstorm on Sunday. Becca and I ended up driving out to Edgewater Park and watching the storm roll in over the lake. Absolutely gorgeous, and we lamented a bit over not having a camera.

I got a chance to have some phone conversations that made me happy, with leyloken and Chad, and am hoping schedules will finally synchronize for a good long conversation with forestfire.

And I got a very unexpected email from a woman I had a crush on at BECAUSE two and three years ago (saw her both times I went). Surprising, but cool.

And my brother jajy1979 got the news -- He's going to Hawaii. By July 21st. I think this is a very good thing for him. I'm not certain Mom and Dad are so convinced.

I'm really developing a love of our front porch. We're on the second floor of an old house, and we've got a porch that runs the entire length of the front of the house. We've taken to leaving the front door open (and keeping the lights off in the house to avoid attracting insects), and the entire place is much cooler now. The pets are loving it. The cats are spending most of their time sprawled on the rug out there, no one's tried to catapult themselves off the roof yet, either, although Mushroom explored the roof and gutters briefly. Jax (our hyperactive dog) is digging being able to run out front and see who's walking down the street, rather than destroying the shades and the CD player trying to see out the windows. I'm pondering whether it would be feasible to get bead curtains for the entire length, though. I don't like that the door opens onto our living room, and I'm having to be at least marginally dressed in the evenings if the door's open.

I am not developing a fondness for our mulberry trees. I keep looking around at the litter of fermenting purple berries covering the entire driveway, walk, trash cans, cars, etc, and thinking "starving children in Africa..." Purple polka-dots everywhere. On my feet. On my hands (when I take out the trash). On the cars. On the dog. And they're smellin' not-so-nice anymore, too. Still, the fact that our rainstorm puddles turn deep blackish-purple is kinda neat.

On the down side, I'm still feeling kind of anxious and insomniac. Not really severe at the moment, but often a sign of impending depression. Ick. And the hyper-critical brain-mice are back.
