Well, so much for "Gee, I get to sleep late!"

Despite having spent all week bemoaning my level of exhaustion, for some reason I was surprisingly energetic last night, and this morning I woke up at 4am. It's not even 8am yet, and I've charged the new batteries for the camera, downloaded all the images on it so it's clear, replaced the springs on the gate to the backyard, trimmed out a massive pile of overgrown grapevines, fixed two broken ceramic items, showered, and gotten most of the way through two loads of laundry, as well as getting started on The Chronicles of Chrestomanci, which marnanel lent me when zie visited.

I'd like to start chickenwiring the front porch (Leroy can fit through the slats, so right now he's not allowed out there alone -- a layer of chickenwire behind them will fix the problem, and we just picked some up earlier this week), but I need to borrow the staplegun from Bec, and I doubt she'd thank me for waking her up to get it. Maybe I'll see if I can find the wrench, and pull the trap off the bathroom sink to see if I can fix the drainage problem there. Failing that, the house desperately needs sweeping.

I need to leave the house around 10am to make it to Pride in time for setup. I have a feeling I'll be regretting this burst of early morning energy by this afternoon, but at least I'll be coming home to completed tasks, instead of a waiting 'to do' list a mile long.
