It's going to be a long few days...
Jul. 11th, 2006 09:14 amI patient-instructed last night, and probably will be tonight and tomorrow night, too. Which is fine on some levels; we're working with residents, which I enjoy, and I find the work rewarding enough that it tends to give me a good psychological lift. The big downside is the schedule, which I've complained about before. Getting home an hour before I should go to bed pretty much guarantees I won't go to bed on time, because I'm silly like that. I have a feeling I'm going to be a zombie by Wednesday, especially since I could still use some catching up from the traveling.
I also need to figure out time to make it to main campus to pick up my new glasses, and to the downtown CVS to get them to reprint a receipt for me that my flexplan is demanding. Not sure if I can manage to pull that off between work and patient-instructing or not.
I did, however, finish reading Grass, which I enjoyed immensely. I'm quickly becoming quite a fan of Tepper's work, although it took me an embarrassingly long time to make the connections between characters in this book and Sideshow, a related book that I read previously. It also reminded me of
heron61's post about setting in genre fiction; I'm definitely drawn to books that create a detailed world for me to explore, and I share his fondness for decent sequels for the same reason; I enjoy the chance to further explore the world in question. Up next is Raising the Stones, also set in the same general universe.
musicalchaos left this morning for his week long trip to Vegas; it'll be odd having him gone. Also, post about the weekend hopefully coming soon, although I still haven't had a chance to upload the pics yet.
