Pain Management appt

Yay! A doctor appt that went well!

So, I saw Pain Management today, and I have a scrip for better pain meds, and for a TENS unit, which I'm really excited about -- I used one when I broke my back, and it did me a lot of good, and I really dig the lack of side-effects. Besides, electricity amuses me.

Still waiting to hear back from the rheumatologist about the FMLA, and I also did bloodwork and x-rays today so we can make sure I don't have the familial rheumatoid arthritis on top of things. Here's hoping that all comes back good.

Infomercial Amusement

Funny things I've learned today...

Oxygen network has a sex toy infomercial at 3 in the morning (at least on Sundays). It's hysterical, if massively overpriced (I own one of the toys they advertised -- it cost approximately a third of what it costs from them). They mispronounced vaginal and perineal. This made us giggle.

Anyway, the show led to discussion, which led to googling. It is apparently not possible to find "anal douche" on Blowfish, GoodVibes, Stockroom, or ExtremeRestraints anymore. It is, however, possible to buy one via Amazon. I think this is a sign of the times.

Oh, and I finished The Prehistory of Sex with very mixed feelings. He brings up a lot of interesting ideas, but he skips all over the place in terms of inserting his own theories, some of which I find more plausible and interesting than others. Interesting for a new perspective, and I really like his underlying views of sexuality, and willingness to look at the full breadth of sexual behaviour and gender identity, but I wouldn't recommend reading it as an authoritative source without some additional context.
