So, I have a Canon Powershot A70 that I'm just starting to play around with. It currently only has the 16MB card that came standard, and I'm looking at getting an extra. Apparently, I need a "Type I CompactFlash Card". Can anyone with more experience tell me if this SimpleTech 1GB card is a decent investment, or suggest what else I should be looking for?

Were I you, personally, I would skip amazon on the computer parts and go to a better source. I prefer NewEgg if I'm getting compy parts, they're just as cheap as amazon and they specialize in compy parts so you have more a selection.

That being said, there'a lot of brands out there, but in all honesty? Memory is memory, it honestly doesn't make that much of a difference in my experience. Go with the price that you feel is most reasonable and pay for it. Use your camera and make backups frequently if you're worried about the thing crapping out on you, honestly, everyone should do that, because even the BEST cards fail sometimes and the crappiest cards NEVER have problems.

That's my Two Copper Pennies.

Yeah, that card is fine. The only question to ponder is how many pictures you want to take away from the computer. If you're always going to be near a computer or not taking hundreds of pictures while out running around, then go with a smaller card. I use 256M cards personally and I have 2 of them (one is a backup).

Mmmm.... Home porn....
