So, back in December I went ahead and subscribed to the William Shatner DVD club, because the whole concept made me giggle too much to pass up.

Now that I've gotten a half-dozen or so of the DVDs, I figured I'd provide an update of sorts (only "of sorts" because I haven't actually gotten around to watching most of them yet -- really should fix that one of these days)

As I mentioned when I got my first disk, my major complaint is the packaging -- cheap little cardboard envelopes. Since I'm paying somewhat less that $5/disk, though, I'm not deeply disturbed by this.

Anyway, here's the roundup so far:

Crazy as Hell
Ginger Snaps
Wolves of Wall Street (bonus disk with Ginger Snaps)
King of the Ants
Immortal
(um, I think I might be forgetting one -- I'll have to check when I get home)

Schlocky, silly fun. Pretty much exactly what I was hoping for.

*grin* I most certainly have. We have it pretty much permanently stored on the DVR because it's so wonderfully silly and amusing (and it manages to balance a good look at the topic with the totally tongue-in-cheek Shatner bits).

I really do like that Shatner's developed such a sense of humor about himself over the years.

I'm curious about both Wolves of Wall Street & Immortal. How worth watching are they. Specifically, Wolves of Wall Street sounds like it might be good if it is far more of a quirky film like Gingersnaps and far less like a slasher film - on a related note, my primary complaint about Gingersnaps is that it was a truly excellent film until the last 15 minutes, when it devolved quite badly into trashy horror movie cliches.

Immortal looks fascinating as long as it isn't as vastly sexist as the trailer I watched suggests.

So, do you think I'd like either one?

Well, now I'm going to have to get around to watching them so I can tell you! ;)

Seriously, I've only actually watched Ginger Snaps, which is sort of odd, since it's the only one I'd seen before (and I agree with you on it, although I don't recall whether we agreed on the sequel or not -- I dug it, most people seem to have hated it).

I joined too

I've not watched all the films, though Ginger Snaps was pretty fun ;-)

Since the sleeves are so compact, I've packed all of mine to take with me to Chicago this weekend -- maybe if it keeps raining and we're all in the mood, we'll have a Shatner-selected movie marathon.

No, I haven't seen that one... Once I've got my Netflix queue a bit more in hand (I'm at my 500-item limit), I'll see about adding it.
