Amazing sweep on reproductive rights last night!! -- This is incredible news, and much better than I was fearing.

On the downside, lots of bad news for GLBT folks around the country -- more bans on adoption, more discrimination in constitutions. My heart's especially hurting for my friends in California, and although I'm not yet willing to stop holding my breath, hoping for a turnaround on the numbers, I know it's unlikely.

Also, I was sorry to see the Prop 5 fail in CA; it could've been a great model for prison and incarceration/drug-treatment reform. However, the marijuana initiatives in Michigan and Massachusetts passed, which is good news!

Edit: Looks like a mandatory recount for Franken!

In Ohio, I'm pretty much ecstatic; all the ballot issues went how I was hoping, Kucinich kept his seat, we got Marcia Fudge to replace Stephanie Tubbs-Jones (who died earlier this year), and OHIO FINALLY WENT BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the downside, Election Protection is reporting problems with people being inexplicably dropped from the rolls in Ohio -- it disenfranchised one of my coworkers who didn't know to fight for at least a provisional ballot

Unfortunately, my flare came back with a vengeance last night, so I was varying between dozing and watching the returns, but I did see Obama's speech in real time, and was duly impressed, yet again. The joy on RTA this morning was absolutely contagious. Let's hear it for making some history!
